Centre Facilities

Classrooms

Our classrooms are comfortable to study in, with carpeted floors, heating and cooling. They are suitable for the variety of activities used in English language teaching, including communicative activities.

Multi-Media laboratories

Our laboratories are fully equipped with up-to-date computers. Students can use multimedia language learning materials to improve their language skills. They can also use the computer laboratories to learn basic computer skills needed for further study, as a research tool, and for internet and email access. Assistance is given in class to develop internet and word processing skills.

Independent Learning Centre (ILC)

Our Independent Learning Centre is a relaxed space where students can develop their English skills at their own pace and in their own way. It has multi-media computers and individual study areas, as well as an area for students to talk, read current newspapers and magazines, or work together. The ILC materials provide English language practice in all skills including listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation and grammar. ILC staff are available to assist students with their studies. Independent study in the centre is part of our teaching program and all students are required to spend one hour per day in the ILC.

Student lounges

Students have access to lounges where they can mix with other students socially. Microwave ovens and kitchen areas are available for student use.

RMIT English Worldwide students are members of the RMIT University community and have access to the university library and social and recreational facilities.

Online Learning Tutorial

Online@RMIT is an online facility offered by RMIT University that allows students to continue their study away from the classroom and access course and program material.

Students can login to access their accredited online programs and courses which are developed by teaching staff. Tests, quizzes, discussion boards and chat sessions are also available for student use.
