Higher Education Success is a series of 10hr short courses delivered over three sessions and designed for students who are studying diploma or degree courses at university. The courses focus on the skills which students most commonly experience problems with when they begin tertiary study such as:

academic issues including plagiarism and referencing
using ideas from texts in writing
making effective oral presentations
communicating confidently in academic tutorials
writing a variety of text types including reports, critical responses and literature reviews
analysing and understanding the requirements of academic assignments

Each 10 hour course focuses on one key skill area and offers practical strategies to develop the academic skills required at university.

Session 1: Writing and Research Skills development	Session 2: Speaking and Vocabulary development
This ten hour course will show you how to: analyse the different types of writing tasks choose the appropriate language, structure and style for writing tasks paraphrase and synthesize sources cite sources and create a Bibliography	This ten hour course will show you how to: participate confidently in tutorials give effective academic Oral Presentations build your academic vocabulary express and support your opinion
