Test Results

All candidates who take the test are given a report on their English language ability, which places them on a nine-band scale. The report contains five scores, one for each module and an overall score. The report also gives a brief description of the candidate's level and is normally valid for two years.

Note: Candidates are given only ONE copy of their Test Report Form and this cannot be replaced, however, candidates may request up to five additional copies be sent to other organisations. Test Report Forms for tests taken more than two years ago cannot be re-issued.

IELTS score requirements:

  • Most Australian universities require an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0
  • Foundation, TAFE and college programs require a minimum of 5.0/5.5

The required IELTS score for entry may vary from one institution to another and candidates should check entry requirements with the relevant institution.
