In order to successfully complete an REW course using the MCA and EOC assessment structure, students are required to attend at least 80% of the course. In Australia this is a visa requirement.

Five separate results determine whether a student has successfully completed a level:

1. the result of the Reading EOC.
2. the result of the Writing EOC.
3. the result of the Speaking EOC.
4. the result of the Listening EOC.
5. the total of all course results: i.e. the MCA* (or other assessment tasks, e.g. project) and all EOC results.

NOTE: All 5 results must be over 60% for the Elementary to Upper Intermediate levels and 70% for the Advanced 1 and 2 levels.

* While the MCA results will influence the course total, it is not a requirement that students pass each of these assessment tasks.
